Digit Carry Forward Sum Insured Plan is designed for policyholders who want to make better use of their unused health insurance coverage across policy years. Under this optional cover, the unused base Sum Insured from the expiring policy can increase the Sum Insured available in the renewed policy. The maximum carry forward is 100% of the base Sum Insured. The benefit is particularly useful for customers who make few or no claims and want additional protection available in a future year. The plan can be selected on an individual or family-floater basis, subject to the policy schedule and applicable terms.
A health insurance option that carries forward unused base Sum Insured to the next policy year, up to 100% of the base Sum Insured.
The main strength of the Carry Forward Sum Insured option is that unused base coverage does not simply disappear at renewal. Instead, eligible unused Sum Insured can be carried into the next policy year, with a maximum of 100% of the base Sum Insured. This can provide meaningful additional protection for customers with low claims in the previous year. The major trade-off is that this cover cannot be combined with the Cumulative Bonus benefit. Therefore, customers need to choose between building a cumulative bonus and carrying forward unused Sum Insured. The benefit is also calculated from unused base Sum Insured after accounting for claims.
