Inform your insurance company within 24–48 hours of the incident. Most insurers offer 24×7 helplines, apps, and online portals. Early intimation is critical — delayed reporting is a common rejection reason.
Collect your policy copy, government ID, hospital/medical bills, discharge summary, and FIR (if applicable for motor/travel claims). Submit originals or clear scanned copies via the insurer's preferred channel.
The insurer assigns a claims officer or TPA (Third Party Administrator) to verify your documents and, if needed, depute a surveyor. For health claims, they coordinate directly with the hospital.
Once approved, the claim amount is disbursed — directly to your bank account for reimbursement claims, or to the hospital for cashless claims. Settlement typically takes 7–30 working days.
