SBI General Super Health is a comprehensive indemnity health plan with four variants: Elite, Premier, Platinum and Platinum Infinite. It has 27 base covers and 7 optional covers, and a base sum insured from ₹3 lakh to ₹2 crore. Hospital bills are paid as per actuals up to the sum insured, with no room rent limit according to SBI General, for stays of 24 hours or more. All day care procedures of more than 2 hours are covered, along with 60 days of pre-hospitalisation and 90 days of post-hospitalisation expenses (180 days on Platinum Infinite), home treatment, AYUSH, 12 modern treatments, organ donor expenses and bariatric surgery. Three features carry the plan. The ReInsure Benefit restores your sum insured an unlimited number of times from the very first claim, for the same or a different illness, up to 100% of the base sum insured per claim (200% on Platinum Infinite). The Health Multiplier raises your cover for 37 listed serious illnesses. And Claims Shield pays the non-payable items such as gloves and consumables on every accepted hospital claim. Higher variants add more. Premier brings maternity, Platinum adds OPD, child vaccination and treatment abroad, and Platinum Infinite adds a larger maternity limit, a Loyalty Credit and dental and vision OPD. Adults can join from 18 with no upper age limit, and children from 91 days to 30 years.
Four variants from Elite to Platinum Infinite, with unlimited ReInsure from the first claim and a Health Multiplier for 37 serious illnesses.
Finzony reads Super Health as a feature-rich plan where the variant you pick matters more than the plan name. Across all four variants you get no room rent cap, unlimited ReInsure from the first claim, a Health Multiplier for 37 serious illnesses, Claims Shield for non-payable items and a pre-existing wait of 24 months, which is shorter than the 36-month limit many plans use. A 50% Enhanced Cumulative Bonus adds up to 100% of your cover on Elite and Premier and up to 200% on Platinum. Choose the variant carefully. Elite has no maternity, recovery benefit or e-opinion, and its health check-up is only ₹2,500 and starts after the first renewal. Premier adds maternity of ₹25,000 for a normal delivery and ₹50,000 for a caesarean. Platinum adds a 12-month wait for specified diseases, OPD cover, child vaccination, treatment abroad and a ₹5,000 check-up from day 1. Platinum Infinite has ReInsure of up to 200% per claim, 180 days of post-hospitalisation cover, a Loyalty Credit instead of the cumulative bonus, a ₹2 lakh maternity limit and OPD of ₹10,000 to ₹20,000. Know the catches. Maternity waits 48 months for a single adult and 24 months for other families, and the wait starts fresh if you port in. Hypertension, diabetes and cardiac conditions have a 90-day wait unless you declared them as pre-existing. Most sub-limits do not rise with your sum insured or bonus. Several optional covers can be chosen only when you buy, and a co-payment or deductible cannot be dropped later. The wording refers to a room rent limit in your schedule, so confirm it. SBI General does not publish a starting premium, so get a quote for your own age.
