Optima Super Secure is HDFC ERGO's premium indemnity health plan from the my:Optima Secure family. Its headline feature is the Secure Benefit, which triples your chosen base sum insured from day one at no extra premium. On top of that, the Plus Benefit raises your base cover by 50% after the first renewal and by 100% after the second renewal, irrespective of claims, and the Automatic Restore Benefit refills your base sum insured after a claim. Base sum insured options run from ₹10 lakh up to ₹2 crore. The plan has no room-rent capping, no disease-wise sub-limits and no co-payment, and it covers 68 listed non-medical items (gloves, masks, belts, braces and similar consumables) through the Protect Benefit. Pre-hospitalisation is covered for 60 days and post-hospitalisation for 180 days.
Super Secure triples your base sum insured instantly from Day 1 — a ₹10L cover becomes ₹30L immediately, growing to 5x within 2 years via the Plus Benefit, at no extra cost.
Optima Super Secure is built for people who want a large effective cover without paying for a very high base sum insured. A ₹10 lakh base cover becomes ₹30 lakh on day one, can grow to ₹40 lakh after two renewals through the Plus Benefit, and is restored once after a claim. HDFC ERGO describes this as up to 5X cover. The important detail is that a single claim in one policy year cannot exceed base cover plus Plus Benefit plus Secure Benefit; the restore amount is available for later claims, not for stretching one large claim. The day-to-day benefits are strong too. There is no room-rent cap and no disease-wise sub-limit, so you are not squeezed on room category or on common procedures such as cataract or kidney stones once the waiting period is over. The Protect Benefit covers 68 non-medical items that many plans leave to the policyholder, which cuts out-of-pocket costs in a typical hospital bill. The trade-offs are the standard ones for this category. Maternity and infertility are not covered, a 36-month waiting period applies to pre-existing diseases and 24 months to a list of specified illnesses, and the plan is sold on a 3-year tenure. Buyers who need maternity cover should look at a different plan, and buyers with pre-existing conditions should check whether the optional waiting-period modification is offered on their policy.

Your base sum insured is tripled the moment the policy starts, without any claim and at no additional premium. For example, a ₹10 lakh base cover becomes ₹30 lakh from day one.
A single claim in one policy year cannot exceed base sum insured + Plus Benefit (if applicable) + Secure Benefit.
Your base cover increases by 50% after the first renewal and by 100% after the second renewal, irrespective of any claims made. A ₹10 lakh base cover becomes ₹15 lakh and then ₹20 lakh.
Together with the Secure Benefit this takes a ₹10 lakh base cover to ₹40 lakh after two years.
If you use part or all of your base sum insured in a claim, 100% of the base sum insured is restored automatically for later claims in the same policy year, for any illness or accidental hospitalisation.
Unused restore amount cannot be carried to the next policy year, and it can be used only for hospitalisation claims.
Covers 68 listed non-medical items commonly charged in hospital bills, such as gloves, masks, food charges, belts, braces, nebulisation kits and cervical collars. These are usually deducted from claims under other plans or sold as a paid add-on.
You can choose any room category at any hospital. There is no per-day room-rent limit and no proportionate deduction on your bill because of a costlier room.
Adds an instant 100% of the base sum insured each time the restore benefit is used during the policy year. It can trigger unlimited times for later claims in the same year.
Pays a fixed daily cash amount for hospital stays of 24 hours or more, for up to 30 days, to cover food, travel, loss of pay and similar costs.

Secure Benefit triples your base sum insured from day one at no extra premium. With a ₹10 lakh base cover you start with ₹30 lakh. A single claim in a policy year cannot exceed base cover plus Plus Benefit plus Secure Benefit.
Take a ₹10 lakh base cover. Secure Benefit takes it to ₹30 lakh. After two renewals the Plus Benefit adds another ₹10 lakh, making ₹40 lakh. If you claim and use your base cover, it is restored once, which brings the total available during the year to ₹50 lakh across claims.
There is a 30-day initial waiting period for illnesses (accidents are covered from day one), 24 months for specified illnesses and surgeries, and 36 months for pre-existing diseases. Waiting periods reduce for continuous renewals and for credit carried over when you port from another policy.
